The industrial-technological group Czechoslovak Group (CSG) has long supported the Integrated Rescue System (IRS), particularly soldiers and firefighters who utilize equipment manufactured by companies within the group. As part of its partnership with the HC Sparta Prague hockey club, CSG will actively participate in the traditional event, Sparta Pays Tribute. The 16th edition of this event will take place during two home games on January 10 and January 12 at the O2 Arena in Prague.
The home games on Friday, January 10, against Vítkovice, and Sunday, January 12, against Litvínov will be dedicated to the Integrated Rescue System, including police officers, firefighters, soldiers, and paramedics. This event, now in its 16th year, not only holds social and sporting significance but also has a charitable dimension: funds raised are traditionally distributed among the Military Solidarity Fund, the Czech Association of Emergency Medical Services, and the Foundation for Police Officers and Firefighters.
Every year, Sparta prepares unique content focusing on one branch of the IRS. This year, the focus will be on the police and the issue of inappropriate behavior in the online space. "The goal is to highlight the problem of cyberbullying in the public sphere. In cooperation with the Czech Police, to whom this year’s edition is dedicated, we also want to emphasize that inappropriate behavior on the internet can have criminal consequences," said Jakub Dlouhý, a member of the HC Sparta Prague board of directors.
The project includes a fundraising campaign on the Donio platform and a charity auction held after the games. On the ice rink atop the Harfa Gallery, located next to the hockey arena, a mini-tournament of hockey teams representing different branches of the IRS will be held on the day of the first match. Placement matches will be played before the start of Friday's game against Vítkovice. The Sparta Pays Tribute games are traditionally in high demand and usually sell out. Additional fans can watch the games via television broadcasts.
"Our CSG group is deeply rooted in the defense industry, whose importance is growing globally, particularly in light of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Our products today play a significant role in protecting Western civilization. The Integrated Rescue System also utilizes our equipment — whether it’s military personnel relying on our defense technology or firefighters using our Tatra vehicles in their units and operations," said Kateřina Petko, Director of Communications at CSG.
The Sparta Pays Tribute event is supported not only by CSG but also by its member companies: DAKO-CZ, a manufacturer of brake systems and components for rail vehicles, including trains, metro cars, and trams, and Elton hodinářská, the maker of traditional Prim watches. CSG will remain the main partner of HC Sparta Prague for at least the next two Extraliga seasons.
