The global industrial and technology group CSG (Czechoslovak Group) will participate in the newly announced strategic partnership between the Hungarian group 4iG and Rába Automotive Holding Plc., a leading Hungarian manufacturer of heavy vehicles and their components.

4iG Group is acquiring a 74% stake in Rába and is simultaneously making a mandatory offer to purchase the remaining shares. The total value of the transaction amounts to nearly HUF 25 billion (just under EUR 64 million or CZK 1.55 billion).

Based on a preliminary agreement, CSG Defence, a CSG subsidiary and the division covering its defence industry activities, will have the opportunity to acquire up to a 49% stake in 4iG SDT EGY Zrt., the company through which 4iG is executing the transaction with Rába. This represents up to a 37% indirect stake for CSG in Rába. The agreement also includes provisions granting 4iG the rights to sell, assemble, service, and distribute heavy wheeled chassis for military and special-purpose vehicles in Hungary.

“Partnership with 4iG and Rába represents a significant step in our long-term efforts to strengthen the defence industry in Central Europe. By combining Rába’s manufacturing capacities, CSG’s strong industrial base, and Tatra Trucks’ expertise in the development and production of unique off-road vehicles, we are creating a strong industrial foundation capable of delivering modern and competitive solutions not only for Hungary, but also for other markets,” said Jan Marinov, CEO of CSG Defence.

“With the support of CSG, we are opening a new chapter in Rába’s history. The combination of Rába’s nearly 130-year tradition, 4iG’s strategic vision, and CSG’s international experience will enable us to build modern industrial capacity that will strengthen Hungary’s position within NATO and the European Union,” said Gellért Jászai, Chairman of the Board of 4iG Plc.
