The IDEF 2025 military and defense technology fair, held in Istanbul, Turkey, from July 22 to 27, is one of the largest events of its kind in the Middle East. Companies from the CSG Group will participate in this year’s 17th edition at a joint stand under the CSG Defence division. Excalibur International, Tatra Export, Excalibur Army, and MSM Group will showcase their projects, services, and products.
Excalibur International focuses primarily on large international projects, delivering complex turnkey solutions, and managing logistics and financing for both defense and civilian industry projects. In recent years, it has cooperated with Turkish partners on several significant projects for clients in Southeast Asia. For this reason, the company regularly sends representatives to IDEF and prepares exhibits that present new developments in defense systems, which will be the case again this year.
Tatra Export has also been active in the Turkish market for many years, supplying chassis from Tatra Trucks to local partners. At the exhibition, Tatra Export representatives will highlight the new third generation of the Tatra Force model series, which has already been adopted by the armed forces of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The modernized Tatra 810M series will also be introduced. Its predecessor has proven itself in various armed forces in the Middle East, and the new version has the potential to attract additional customers.
The CSG Defence division also includes the Šternberk-based company Excalibur Army (EA). EA will present its entire portfolio of combat and special ground systems through digital visualizations. This will include the Patriot 4x4 armored vehicle, the MORANA 155 mm and DITA 155 mm artillery systems, the AM-50 EX and AM-70 EX bridge vehicles, the RM-70 Vampire rocket launcher family, and the TREVA-30 engineering vehicle family, which are already in service with customers in the region.
Slovak company MSM Group will exhibit a wide range of large-caliber ammunition and accessories produced by Slovak companies ZVS, MSM Nováky, and Spanish manufacturer Fábrica de Municiones de Granada (FMG). The production portfolio will feature 155 mm and 105 mm artillery ammunition, 120 mm and 105 mm tank ammunition—all NATO standard—as well as training artillery ammunition, mortar ammunition in calibers 60 mm, 81 mm, and 120 mm, 30x173 mm medium-caliber ammunition, supplementary pyrotechnic devices, and propellant charges for ammunition.
IDEF (The International Defense Industry Fair) is a defense industry exhibition organized biennially since 1993 by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation. In 2023, the 16th edition hosted more than 1,400 domestic and international companies from 54 countries. The event welcomed 187 official delegations and recorded 94,198 professional visitors from 107 countries.
