From 30 September to 2 October, the Italian city of Milan will host the twelfth edition of EXPO Ferroviaria. DAKO-CZ, a manufacturer of braking systems and components for rail vehicles based in Třemošnice, Eastern Bohemia, will once again be present. After debuting with its own stand at the 2023 fair, the company is returning this year with a range of innovations, including a hybrid coupler for a hydrogen hybrid locomotive, set to be one of the event’s main attractions.
“I greatly value the partnership we have established with the Italian company Sitav, a pioneer in the development of hybrid locomotives,” says Stanislav Pometlo, Vice Chairman of the Board and CEO of DAKO-CZ. “These strategic partnerships drive us forward and give us unique opportunities to apply new technologies to customer projects.”
For this project, DAKO-CZ will supply not only the hybrid digital automatic coupler but also the complete braking system. The presentation of the locomotive, designated FENHYCE (Fuel cell ENergy HYdrogen Converted Engine), will take place on Wednesday, 1 October at 12:30 p.m. at the outdoor stand AT-A02. The display will showcase the hybrid digital automatic coupler as well as the design and concept behind the development of the hydrogen locomotive.
Among other products, DAKO-CZ will present its block brake unit, a compressed-air-powered brake designed for passenger rail vehicles. The unit features a pneumatic cylinder, clearance adjuster, and transmission mechanism. Visitors will also find models of brake units and brake components developed in compliance with UIC standards.
“We believe that DAKO-CZ’s exhibit will capture the interest of both professional visitors and the wider technical public, becoming a place to establish new contacts and strengthen relationships with clients. For the Italian fair we have also prepared an impressive slide show highlighting the key themes of the exhibition: digitalization, electronics, sustainability, and innovation,” concludes Stanislav Pometlo.
DAKO-CZ will exhibit in Hall F, Stand 80. EXPO Ferroviaria is Italy’s most important railway event. At the 2023 edition, 274 exhibitors from over 15 countries presented their products and solutions, with 80 companies participating for the first time, and the fair welcomed nearly 12,000 visitors.
