The InnoTrans trade fair will take place in Berlin, Germany, from 24 to 27 September. The 14th edition of the international railway trade fair for technology, components and innovative solutions is one of the largest and most prestigious railway events in Europe. Traditionally, DAKO-CZ, a leading manufacturer of the brake systems and components for railway vehicles, will be represented among the exhibitors in the railway technology segment. This year the company will present more than twenty exhibits, eleven of them in a world premiere. Main new products will include the DAKO electromechanical brake unit for trailer bogies, the DAKO digital automatic coupler (DAC) for freight cars and the DAKO digital solution for remote monitoring of freight cars.

The DAKO electromechanical brake unit is designed for braking tram vehicles. This solution beats all previously experienced competitors' technical solutions. The newly developed DAKO digital automatic coupler will also be presented, which is a significant innovation in the process of coupling and uncoupling freight trains, allowing the entire process to be automated without human intervention.

In addition to these two world premieres, DAKO-CZ will present its products from the platforms of trams, units, metro cars, freight cars, locomotives and high-speed trains. DAKO's solutions will also be part of many of the company's customer exhibits, including Croatian freight car manufacturer Đuro Đaković, Czech companies Nymwag CS and CZ LOKO, Italian company SVI, Swiss company Harsco Rail and Slovak company Tatravagónka.

"InnoTrans is a key event where we can present our innovative solutions. We are sure that this event is a great opportunity to present our products from each platform in front of our customers, professionals and the general public," says Stanislav Pometlo, Vice-Chairman of the Board and CEO of DAKO-CZ, adding: "The heart of the matter, however, is the DAKO electromechanical brake unit for trailer bogies, which uses DAKO Brake By Wire control and is part of the WE BRAKE GREEN concept, an oil-free solution that is environmentally friendly."

The DAKO electromechanical brake unit is designed for braking tram vehicles, where it acts as service, rescue, locking, parking and emergency brakes. It is a passive or passive-active braking unit, controlled by an electronic unit and designed for trailer bogies. It therefore clearly belongs to the "oil free" product range, which does not require oil management to stop.

"The future is clearly in the development of electromechanical braking units. Our focus is on these solutions. So not only do we already offer electromechanical braking units for trams, but we are also preparing solutions for metro and suburban units and are moving towards electromechanics in freight transport as well. Electromechanical systems will become an equivalent replacement for pneumatic and hydraulic braking systems," adds Stanislav Pometlo.

Together with other products, DAKO-CZ will be presenting a pneumatic tread brake unit. This unit is designed for passenger rail vehicles. It is equipped with a pneumatic cylinder, slack adjuster and gear mechanism. Also on display in Berlin will be control units for electromechanical and hydraulic brakes, UIC components, the HFX control panel for the tramtrains which will operate in Düsseldorf and Duisburg, the KKBB caliper, the slack adjuster and low weight distributor with digitalisation ready. At the DAKO-CZ stand number 420 in Hall 1.2, there will also be an electromechanical control unit for the traction (motor) bogies together with a magnetic track brake developed for the Prague trams type 52T project produced by the Škoda Group.

"We believe that the DAKO-CZ exhibition will attract visitors from both the professional and the general technical public. It will become a place where we will establish new contacts and strengthen relationships with clients. We have prepared an impressive slide show especially for the Berlin fair, which will support the main themes of the fair this year, which are: digitalization, electronics, sustainability and innovation," says Jana Kavalír, DAKO-CZ Marketing Manager, and adds, "We consider it very important to conclude cooperation with our Turkish partner Gökrail, on whose wagon the brake test will be carried."

The InnoTrans trade fair takes place two years. This prestigious world event attracts massive interest from both exhibitors and visitors. This year, more than 2,900 exhibitors from 59 countries will be present at the Berlin Exhibition Centre. Visitors to the fair will have the unique opportunity to see world innovations from five segments - railway technology, railway infrastructure, public transport, interiors and tunnel construction.
