Press releases
Tatra Metalurgie a.s., a subsidiary of the Tatra Trucks automotive company and part of the Czechoslovak Group (CSG) industrial holding, has announced the launch of a major investment project focused on the environmental modernization of its forging operations. The company is currently seeking suppliers for this initiative. With support from the Czech Ministry of the Environment, Tatra Metalurgie plans to invest over CZK 1.2 billion to significantly reduce emissions of solid pollutants and enhance the sustainability of its production processes.

Project Goal: 80% Emissions Reduction and Technology Modernization

The project involves a comprehensive modernization of the production process - from the cutting of input materials, through forming operations and heat treatment, to the finishing of forgings. Existing equipment will be replaced with modern technologies that meet the highest environmental and technological standards. Key components of the project include:

  • A robotized forging line with low emission impact
  • Energy-efficient heat treatment of forgings directly from forging temperature, significantly reducing emissions
  • Continuous hardening lines with minimal emissions output
  • High-efficiency shot blasting and forging finishing systems with advanced emission filtration
  • With these innovations, Tatra Metalurgie aims to achieve a reduction of nearly 80% in solid pollutant emissions, contributing to a cleaner environment and a more sustainable industry in the region.

    Tender Preparation and Timeline

The tender documentation for selecting the project’s general contractor was published in July 2025. The company is working with consulting firm Ascend to ensure compliance with grant regulations and transparency of the procurement process.

"This project is a key step toward a sustainable future for our forge. The modern technologies will enable us to significantly reduce our environmental footprint, also thanks to increased production efficiency," said Miroslav Holčák, CEO of Tatra Metalurgie.

    CSG Group’s Commitment to Sustainability

"Greening of production processes is one of CSG Group’s top priorities. Tatra Metalurie’s investment exemplifies our commitment to combining industrial tradition with modern technologies that respect the environment," stated Andrej Čírtek, spokesperson for Tatra Trucks a.s.

    Call to Suppliers

Tatra Metalurgie invites potential suppliers to review and participate in the tender and contribute to the implementation of this groundbreaking project. Further information on the tender is available through standard procurement channels – the NEN bulletin (Ministry of Regional Development), the company website at tatrametalurgie.cz, and the communication channels of the CSG Group.
