From 12 to 18 November, the traditional Agritechnica trade fair will take place in Hannover, Germany. This is one of the largest agricultural technology and machinery exhibition events in the world. For the umpteenth time, the oldest and largest Czech truck manufacturer, Tatra Trucks, will also take part in the fair, presenting a novelty in the form of a special tractor of the Tatra Phoenix series.
Tatra Trucks has several model lines of heavy and medium trucks for different segments in a wide range of versions in its production portfolio. The mainstay for the civil market is the Tatra Phoenix model range, which is used in the agricultural, construction and mining industries, in municipal services, road maintenance and by firefighters and rescue workers. During this year's Agritechnica, Tatra Trucks will present a special Tatra Phoenix Euro 6 tractor-trailer truck with a 4x4 chassis configuration designed for operation with agricultural trailers. The novelty will be exhibited at stand B19 of the Kopřivnice company in hall number 4.
The vehicle is equipped with a unique and proven Tatra concept chassis with a central support tube and independently suspended semi-axles with all-wheel drive, and is adapted for use on both agricultural areas and ordinary roads. The crew has a medium so-called sleeping two-seater cab with a bed, under which there is a storage compartment. The cab equipment includes a water-dependent heater and an independent Airtonic heating and air conditioning system. Power is provided by a 330 kW Paccar MX-11 engine mated to an Allison 4500PR automatic transmission with retarder. The maximum weight of the vehicle is 20 tonnes, the maximum load on each axle of the vehicle can reach 10 tonnes, and the maximum weight of the vehicle and trailer combination is 44 tonnes.
The traditional Agritechnica is held every two years and its history began in the mid-1980s in Frankfurt am Main. Since the mid-1990s, it has been held regularly in Hannover, enjoying great popularity with both exhibitors and visitors from all corners of the world. This year, exhibitors from 53 countries will be present in more than 20 exhibition halls at the Hannover fair, and attendance is expected to be in the hundreds of thousands of visitors.
